The day you were told
A page for the date, the diagnosis, and where you were standing when you heard it. However you reacted was the right way to react.
Still Standing
I went through cancer and came out the other side with a whole story and almost none of it written down. So I made the thing I wish somebody had handed me on day one.
150 days. One page at a time. Room for the hard days, the good days, and the days you don't want to write anything at all.
Instant download. Print it or write on your tablet.
I lost my mom to cancer.
A few weeks later they found mine.
I have watched people I know leave here because they lost the fight. I'm still standing. And I don't take one day of that lightly.
It starts on the day you were told. Then it walks with you, day by day, all the way through.
A page for the date, the diagnosis, and where you were standing when you heard it. However you reacted was the right way to react.
Each day has room for the date, a quick check-in on how you're feeling, and two or three prompts. Some days you'll fill the page. Some days a sentence is plenty.
The harder ones. Hair. Grief. Who showed up and who didn't. How you're really doing. They're scattered through on purpose, so they meet you when you get there.
The first half is built around chemo, the back half moves into radiation. If your path looks different, use the pages in whatever order fits.
And a prayer on every page. Take it or leave it. It's there if you want it.
You don't have to write every day. You don't have to write a lot. Some days the page stays blank and that's all right too. The journal will still be here when you're ready.
I'm Marsha.
I went through cancer. I made it through, and the thing that stayed with me afterward was how much of it I couldn't remember clearly. The days ran together. Chemo brain is real. I had this whole enormous thing happen to me and I didn't write down almost any of it.
So many people are dealing with this. I knew a journal like this would have a reach.
I'm not a doctor and I'm not going to tell you how to get through your treatment. What I can tell you is that your story is worth keeping. For you, on the days you need proof of how far you've come. And for the people who love you, if you ever want them to understand what this was really like.
Keep your faith. Take it step by step.
Keep standing.
